Hello, I am trying to convert my wav file into ulaw to upload to an IVR telephone system and a horrible static noise is added to my audio. What am I doing wrong? I use adobe audition CS6. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

You might need to update your Audition. Updating your Audition might do the trick. If that doesn’t work, best thing to do is talk to the guru of sound, the king of all audio, Mike Russell.
At the end I tried to do it in audacity and it worked! Thank you
Great you got this solved @Isabel and this is certainly not regular behaviour for Adobe Audition.
You may wish to adjust the I/O Buffer size inside Preferences > Audio Hardware to be a larger number in the future to see if this makes things better.
