I have recently got a Soundcraft Notepad 8FX and when speaking over Zoom or Squadcast the other end say that my audio level is very low but I have the level turned to 0dB and the gain almost up full. Are there any settings that I have missed or any drivers required, I have a 2020 MacBook Air.
If you’ve got the gain all the way up and the microphone volume nob up at 0db that would indicate a low level coming from your microphone. What mic are you useing @TimHeale9?
If it’s a dynamic mic (especially Heil PR40, Shure SM7b etc.) the pre-amps in most mixers won’t give enough gain. You’ll need something like a Fethead, Cloudlifter or the legendary dbx 286s to get more gain and be at a reasonable level for your guest.

I got a new mic “Sontronics Podcast Pro’ (Buy British) it seems to have done the job and made a difference.
