Podcast Preset (Free) - Audio Cuts Out When Recording

I’m having an issue. If I’m close to the mic it comes through fine but if I move even a half foot, whole foot away - the audio cuts out when recording. Like a stutter record. I’m wondering how to prevent this or if I have done something wrong. For a better understanding I am using:

-Audition 2020 latest version.
-Shure SM7B microphone
-Apogee Duet interface.

Are you able to post an example of how the audio sounds when you move away? Do you have any cloudlifter/processor unit on your Shure? It does need it!
