Audition Copy to New

Hi Guys,

I am having troubles with this simple thing. Searched for hours but can’t resolve it. Hopefully you can help. My purpose is to copy some snippets from my podcast and paste them into an intro. This intro has background music under it, so I would like to increase the audio level of the snippets. If I do so, the original files (in the podcast itself) increase as well which is undesirable. How can you really copy and paste to new so that you can do whatever you like with the copied file without affecting the original files. The copy to new, paste to new does not work for me. Thanks!!

@indubio are you working inside a multitrack in Audition? This would solve it (I think) - if one track is dedicated to the music and other to snippets you can control the levels on each separately. Does that make sense?

No I was working in the waveform and adjusted the volume there. Tried your tip and it worked. You are the best! Thanks!!
