I feel podcasting is having its bubblegum moment - there are plenty of new podcasts with a couple of famous folk chatting as the format. Silly money is being spent on even sillier ventures. Its like 1999-2001 dot com bubble again. It will end with podcasting continuing to grow audience at “only” organic rates. Spotify will push subscription content whether its audio or pineapples. It’s just about gaining market share and profit.
It’ll be interesting to see what this means for podcasting. Will Anchor by the “YouTube of Audio”? We’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time.
