Home Production Setup Help

Hello everyone i was wondering if someone could help me with my audio production setup at home,

I have a rode procaster dynamic mic that goes into the behringer xenyx q1002 mixer that goes through a behringer uca222 and strait in adobe audition 2019

The problem is that the microphone sound has popping sound, sounds dull and has background noise.

would someone know how to fix that?

I would like it to sound like Mike’s audio - the nice radio voice

Thanks for the questions @Bjorn.

Let’s address those three points and see what we can do:

  1. Popping Sound - Easily fixed with a pop filter https://amzn.to/2D9NQ2z

  2. Sounds Dull - The dbx 286s is absolute magic for brightening up a microphone, adding compression, noise gate and more! https://amzn.to/2VTj9G5

  3. Background Noise - I’ve always found the Xenyx range of mixers have rather a lot of hiss compared to others. I have always called Soundcraft mixers home. If you have a mic from a quality manufacturer (like it seems you do) look at other things in the chain. Start with the cables and spend a little more on these to see if that eliminates background noise and if not look at your mixer/audio interface.
